Melodies of a House with a Garden

Writer's picture: Uma Pausa PortuguesaUma Pausa Portuguesa

In a house with a garden, life finds a gentler rhythm. The days unfold at nature’s pace, with plants needing care, drawing you closer to the earth. Your hands in the soil, your senses in tune with the whisper of leaves and the warmth of the sun. Outside becomes an extension of home, where you live alongside the shifting shadows of trees, under the glow of the moon and the twinkle of stars. Birds become familiar neighbours, and bees, ever-busy visitors, weave their way through the air.

Mornings begin with the aroma of coffee, sipped slowly as swallows chirp above, weaving their delicate song into the soft light of the day. Friends and family linger longer here, lounging in hammocks or laying by the water reservoir, their laughter mingling with the rustle of the grapevine and the hum of lavender bushes. Meals are shared beneath the open sky, the flavours of local ingredients filling the air with their fragrant promise, as conversations flow as easily as the gentle breeze. Here and there the piano keys come alive under the masterful hands, classical melodies weaving with the branches of the fruitful orange tree.

In this sanctuary, life slows down, and the simple beauty of togetherness takes center stage.
