Our adventures in São Mamede Natural Park have led us to discover enchanting bathing spots, perfect for the upcoming hot summer days. Each walk unfolds new secrets, each path leads to a hidden gem.
One of the most splendid spots is Povoa e Meadas Lake, with its soft, beach-like areas teeming with frogs and the graceful presence of black and white herons. Here, nature's symphony creates a serene retreat.
Another treasure is Rio Sever, still flowing robustly, offering natural basins surrounded by large slabs of smooth rock—perhaps granite, a mystery inviting further exploration. The shade of numerous trees provides a cool, tranquil escape from the sun.
Lastly, but certainly not least, is the Cascada do Monte Sete. Though the journey to reach it is more challenging, the spectacular view and the magical landscape of slate stone and moss make it well worth the effort. As the temperatures rise, reminiscent of peak summer days, we'll continue our quest to uncover more of these refreshing havens.
